Vacation is over

Well vacation is certainly over. I am currently sitting at the crew change lounge waiting on the 0200 van ride to fourchon for the 0300 crew boat ride offshore to the boat. The current forecast is calling for 6-8 foot seas tonight, so it isn’t exactly going to be a smooth ride. We shall see. For anyone starting down here, get your HUET right away. Most of our boat doesn’t have a current HUET cert because the previous client didn’t fly anyone, and that is why we will be enjoying these crew boat rides for a while at least.
On the operations front it is looking more and more like we are a warehouse boat for this project the client is currently doing. They recently bought quite a few facilities from BP, the most notable being the Holstein spar, of which they are currently working over the wells on. This is were we come in as their floating deck space offshore. For me that should mean lots of DP days and being able to send in for my DPO unlimited cert. So I can be onboard with that plan. Anyway if there isn’t a lot of posting this hitch it will because we are offshore so much. I will do what I can though.
