What’s in a name? (Vessels)

So what is in a name? You see company logo’s and names plastered around the oilfield on vessels, containers, and ever other bit and piece.

From our Ulstein combi-levers in the wheelhouse

To the very top of DD1’s derrick

One the exhaust stacks and wheelhouses of vessels

Of course all of those just let you know who owns or charters them, if you look on the hulls you can see who they are

I have to give credit to my inspiration for this post, the blogger of renown tugster, also know as Will Van Dorp. His fantastic blog is on my blog roll and I guess with this post and the few to follow I am aiming to imitate the style of some of his posts that inspired me to start this blog.
