HMS Bounty

I’ve been following via several online sources, since about 2300 last night, that the HMS Bounty had set sail from New London Ct. several days ago bound for Florida even with hurricane Sandy bearing down. Some time last night she is reported to have lost power and started taking on water. According to the USCG officer quoted in several online news articles sometime around 0500-0600 this morning the crew of 17 abandoned ship for their life rafts and two helicopters are in route with a USCG C-130 on station. I just ask that everyone keep the crew in their thoughts and prayers and hope that they are all recovered safely. Below is a picture from the Bounty’s Facebook page taken from her deck on her voyage between Maine and Puerto Rico in 2010, not this Saturday as I mistakingly stated earlier.
