Back in action

I know it’s been about two weeks since I’ve posted anything, it’s just been a busy and great time off at home, though now I am back in Galliano at the office for my advanced DP class. Day one went pretty well, lots of relearing the MT system for me, as well as getting the handling characteristics of the Kirt Chouest AHTS down. It was a change going from the drive boat I have been on for almost a year to tunnel thrusters and CPP wheels. At the end of the day though driving a boat is driving a boat. Our only assesment scenario today had us holding position next to the rig with a hose on for 10 minutes in manual, then hold position without the hose in joystick, and finally put the boat in full DP. Very basic stuff in calm conditions, so I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us week.
