It’s good to be home

I was in a pretty bad mood the day I flew home, after crew change getting messed up and missing the chance to see my family and friends in the Bahamas. However as we started our descent over Long Island into Boston I got a fantastic view of Long Island sound, the Race, Newport, Buzzards Bay, the Cape and the Islands. Getting to see this triggered all manner of great memories doing different jobs or taking different trips on a variety of boats. Towing the Crystal Sea to Senesco on Jaguar, coming back from New York in the fog on Lynx and listening to a Container Ship almost ram a fishing boat on the radio.
Best of all was flying right over Plymouth and getting to see the harbor and bay where I learned to run boats on as a kid. I truly felt like I was coming home. Now its time to enjoy a few days off, and not even think about oil rigs!
