What A Great Couple of Days

The past week has been slow for me in Boston, with no cruises on Odyssey, however it was the perfect week for things to pick up on Jaguar. Monday morning around 0400 we left for Nantucket to pick up a small deck barge and I ended up watching the boat for a day weatherbound there. I did get one of the best sunrises I’ve had this year, sitting in the wheelhouse looking out over a still Natucket harbor. The tow back to Fairhaven was great, with calm seas and a clear daylight passage through Woodshole

Fast forward to saturday and I got the call to come down to boat packed for two days. When I got there we undocked a fruit ship from the state pier in New Bedford and then proceeded outbound behind the ship, headed for boston. The weather was perfect and we had an easy seven hour run to the commuter boat dock in quincy.

After a short nap we hipped up on the Flying Cloud and took her out through the Fore River bridge where we let her out on a short hawser and precceeded outbound, again with weather that couldnt be more perfect. My only regret of the week is not getting a picture of the sunset as we secured the Flying Cloud to the dock in Fairhaven; the clouds absolutely looked like fire.
